Exploitation of novel computer architectures, such as general purpose GPUs, is allowing researchers to accelerate the realization of frontier models in particle-based simulation, by enabling an increase in the level of realism in the description of the particles and their interactions and increasing both the number of particles and the timescales simulated.
This one-day meeting focuses on the new and exciting area of the exploitation of GPUs and related technology in the area of biomolecular simulations.

Almost all the presentations from the recent UK GPU Computing Conference held on December 13-14 2010 in Cambridge are now available at http://www.many-core.group.cam.ac.uk/ukgpucc2/programme.shtml. Over 100 delegates saw a varied mix of talks from both industry and academia over the 2 day meeting.

The ASIM (Arbeitsgruppe Simulation) and the TUM are jointly organizing the ASIM Workshop 2011 at Technische Universität München (TUM) and the Leibniz Supercomputing Centre, Germany. The workshop theme is “Trends in Computational Science and Engineering: Foundations of Modeling and Simulation” and will take place March 14 to March 16, 2011. The conference program consists of two building blocks: contributed talks and an extensive poster session for new and upcoming Ph.D. students. Researchers in industry academia are invited to submit their latest research results to the “Reconfigurable and GPU Computing” track at the 9th ACS/IEEE (pending approval) International Conference on Computer Systems and Applications (AICCSA 2011). The Second International Workshop on New Frontiers in High-performance and Hardware-aware Computing (HipHaC’11) is to be held in conjunction with the 17th IEEE International Symposium on High-Performance Computer Architecture (HPCA-17), colocated with 16th ACM SIGPLAN Annual Symposium on Principles and Practice of Parallel Programming (PPoPP 2011), February 13, 2011, San Antonio, Texas, USA.
This workshop aims at combining new aspects of parallel, heterogeneous, and reconfigurable microprocessor technologies with concepts of high-performance computing and, particularly, numerical solution methods. In this workshop hosted by iVEC and the University of Western Australia on August 19th, you will learn about CUDA, the Fermi architecture, and Tesla GPU Computing products. You will learn about the basics of programming GPUs using CUDA C and C++, the variety of available computational libraries for CUDA, tools for profiling and debugging CUDA applications, and approaches for optimizing CUDA parallel applications. You will also learn about CUDA-enabled desktop, workstation, and cluster computing solutions provided by Xenon Systems.
